There’s nothing more welcoming than an Irish pub, and Tom Bergin’s Tavern (which opened in 1936) is one of the oldest continuously operating restaurant/bars in Los Angeles.  In January 1949, it moved a few short blocks from its original Wilshire Blvd location to its current home on Fairfax.  There was no need for Bergin to hire professional movers, because patrons and employees carried the horseshoe bar every step of the way!  Even if you’re not planning to haul a massive bar down a major thoroughfare, imagine what an Irish coffee or a pint of Guinness can do for you! Look for the cardboard shamrocks on the walls memorializing the names of some of its famous customers such as Tommy Lasorda, Ronald Reagan, and Cary Grant.

Come straight from work or slip into something more Deco--either way, plan to join us!  Cocktails in Historic Places® is open to members and non-members alike and reservations are not required. We look forward to seeing you there.

Tom Bergin’s Tavern offers valet parking, and there is street parking in the adjacent neighborhood.
