The Firestone Building

The ADSLA Preservation committee has submitted a nomination to the City of Los Angles to designate the Firestone Building, 800 S. La Brea, as a Historical Cultural Monument.

Ennis House Sold

Frank Lloyd Wright’s 1924 Ennis House sold in mid July for $4.5 Million. At 6000 square feet, this is the largest of the four “Textile Block” houses designed by Wright in Los Angeles.
Threatened Historic and Cultural Resources

The Art Deco Society of Los Angeles Preservation Committee has developed a Threatened Historic and Cultural Resources List. This list is designed to educate ADSLA members about Art Deco buildings and related cultural resources that we believe are threatened for demolition, or due to poor maintenance, may be subject to damage resulting in demolition or cause significant irreversible negative impacts.
We will be updating the list periodically as more threatened resources are discovered or the resources listed have been stabilized.

The Board of the Art Deco Society of Los Angeles is proud to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of our volunteers at 2010’s many diverse events. These events included hosting our CHPs, helping with the ADSLA table at Lectures, working on our Warner Grand and Homestead Ticket to the Twenties Fashion Shows, the Queen Mary Art Deco Festival, and many more. ADSLA could not have produced any of those events without the strong support of our volunteers! Thank you for everything!
